This is the flight simulator I've waited 40 years for.  I'm totally hooked on the way the world looks now.  Clouds and daytime/nightitme transistions are stunning.  Cities with street lights look real.

The FBW A320Neo will eventually be as good as the FSLabs and for free!

I've abandoned £000's of addon aircraft and airports in P3D.  I've also spent £2k on a new PC so this helps!  I just need to live another 10 years to get value for money! smiley

How are you guys finding MSFS?

I'm staying in the dark ages on FSX for now!!!

It just feels like there are so many outstanding issues at the moment that I jusrt want to be sure I get a flight completed pretty much every time and FSX remains fairly stable (plus my investment in it with Addons also runs to many £100's.

The world looks greta though I agree, from what I've seen

Actually MSFS is pretty stable if you've got a capable PC.  A lot of the scare stories about MSFS have come from people with no previous flightsim experience.  They view it as a 'game' which they expect to be 100% from Day 1.  Of course, lots of X-Box users are on board now.  I just use the FBW A320NX which is developing literally on a daily basis and I have no issues at all.  Like you, I had £100's (maybe even more than that) invested in P3D but I've written that off now.  At 74 time's not on my side to hang around waiting!

Love MSFS. It is actually the reason why I am here as I was in a flight Sim sabatical for a few years (after years of FSX, 1st P3D, IVAO and VAs)and when MSFS came out it was so breathtaking I had to come back. Mine is very stable but I have a top end pc. After you try it, you will find it difficult to go back to other platform. I fly the FBW A320NX, have the Thrustmanster Airbus Captain Pack with the saitek/logieck pedals and panels all programmed to the A32NX using Spad and 3 screens. I also stream some of my flights live on YT so friends and family can see it, is amazing what we can do now days. I am having a great time here at Jetva.

Very interesting, thank you both! I can see I'll have to have a re think. Do you find the weather and flight planning good? I've heard there are problems. Also which version of FBW do you use? I'm very tempted...

I use the development version and tends to be very stable. The experimental versions gives you all the latests goodies but it has caused me problems before when flying online (I fly IVAO btw) so I avoid it.

The real weather was bad at first (not very accurate, inacurate transitions etc) but they have improved it recently. Regarding planning. I use Simbrief but the built in planner is decent.

I also use the Development version of the FBW which, as Miguel says, is very stable.  Flight planning is simple if you use Simbrief.  With a click of a button on the Flypad it's imported.  No problem with the MCDU either.  The weather is good (has a few hiccups now and again) but the effects are stunning.  Dusk arrivals are superb!  I also have the TM Captain's pack and find the controls make a big difference.  It's easy to calibrate them from the Flypad too.

It's good to have a conversation going on in this forum.  It doesn't get used much.  I suppose most people use Discord these days but I still like this forum.  It's an age thing I guess!

I agree!  The good thing about the forums, if they are allowed to develop, is that you get a single flow of info which is easy to track and to come back to if there's info in it that will remain helpful to people.  I quite like Discord but it's very "in the moment" even with the search function.

Thanks again for your reassurances - I think I'll give MSFS a go....

No issues mate, post away as much as you like mate.

Mark - is there any storage issue on the server with forum posts or can they remain here for refereence?  I'd really like to see a more active and 'useful forum'.
